THERE IS ALWAYS A FIRST TIME.....

Updated: Oct 9, 2023

24th February,2010.

This day holds a special place in the mind of every cricket lover. But it is also a day which proved that some mountains can be climbed if you have the determination and the will to succeed-eventhough it has never been attempted before.

So what is unique about this day in World Cricket?

It was the day when a cricketer crossed the individual landmark of a Double Century in the history of One Day Internationals(ODI)-and it was the “Superman from India”-the one and the only Sachin Tendulkar.

I still remember the day vividly. The idea never crossed the mind until Sachin crossed 180 runs-and then, each ball was followed with anticipation until the MasterBlaster scaled the peak for the first time ever-and rightly so!

Inspiring as he always has been,Tendulkar raised the bar even higher with that single innings against South Africa.

There is always a first time for everything. People might tell you that some feats are out of bounds and there is no point in putting effort. Some people would try to discourage you from following your passion.

But what really matters in the end is your effort and the prompt response to adversities. If you have the determination and will to succeed,it no longer matters how invincible the task might seem.

On that day 12 years ago,Sachin proved to his fraternity and the world alike that nothing is impossible with the right effort and motivation. The unquenchable thirst for success makes you a victor every single time.Since that day, nine other players achieved the feat for a total of 11 times and each of them bettered the maestro’s effort. But the first one always remains a special-simply because it provided the necessary impetus to a seemingly unassailable task.

So always aim high- reach for the stars and let nothing deter you from claiming what is rightfully yours!
